I have a question for you guys. What do you guys think of this possible trade?
I would get:
Eric Byrnes
Rick Ankiel
Brian Bannister
Randy Wolf
I would give up:
David Ortiz
Ryan Zimmerman
Justin verlander
Let me know what you think of the trade, whether you think I should go through with it, and whether I should try to get Chris Young or Jermaine Dye instead of the named outfielders.
Thanks!!!

Fantasy Baseball trade advice?
Honestly i don't know why in the world you would do this trade.
Your trading a 1st/2nd rounder in Ortiz, a Possible 4th rounder in Verlander, and a 10th rounder in Zimmerman for a good outfielder in Byrnes, for 3 scrubs who are just doing good as of now. Ankiel, Bannister, %26amp; Wolf will eventually come back down to earth. These 3 would be great pickups as free agents but your giving 2 great players and a decent player for a good player and people who are hot as of now.
Essentially this is a 3 for 1 deal, Ortiz, Zimmerman, %26amp; Verlander for Byrnes. While Ortiz, Zimmerman %26amp; Verlander are all of to slow starts they have been consistent over the past years. Why would you want to trade consistency for players who are hot right now?
Ortiz has averaged 43 HR's, .309 AVG, and 135 RBI's since joining the Red Sox. Verlander has a combined record of 35-17 and 314 K's in the '06, %26amp; '07 seasons. The Tigers bats are just starting to heat up and you should expect more run support from a potent Tigers lineup when Granderson returns. Zimmerman is a good hitter who should smack 25-30 HR's this year with 100 + RBI's and a .270 AVG. Although struggling now, Much more consistent than Ankiel.
I hope you don't make this trade. Your players have plenty of time to heat up later on in the year. Your players are going to get better as the season progresses, while his will get worse. Think about the long haul, Consistency? Or Players who are doing good now but will get worse?
Hope this helped! Good luck this year!!
Reply:Well keep verlander , try to get rid of ortiz for pujols or prince fielder or ryan howard... get rid of Zimmerman for ankiel.. Ankiel is doin OUTSTANDING so far other wise i wouldnt do the trade
Reply:There is no way why you would do that trade.
Reply:Six man leagues or 8 man leagues are stupid. Good Luck.

Reply:C - I guess Estrada...but none of them are particularly good choices right now.
1B - Prince...he's been better this year than Pujols.
2B - Brandon Phillips, he's the best of an average group of players.
3B - Aramis, he's had a good first half even with missing some time.
SS - JJ Hardy, its not even close.
RF - Corey Hart, not one of the top three in the outfield, but of guys who actually play right he's the best so far.
CF - Hunter Pence, Soriano isn't playing CF anymore so this is a rather weak position too.
LF - Carlos Lee, this is the toughest spot to fill of all with 4 guys who could of gotten the nod.
My outfield would look like this if you ignored position....Lee, Soriano, Dunn...just like you picked it.
SP - Harang, he's been the best so far this season.
SP - Oswalt, right there with Harang
SP - Sheets, another stellar year now that he's healthy again.
SP - Ian Snell, he's been a stud on a horrible team.
SP - Rich Hill, its tough to leave off Zambrano, but he struggled so much early that he gets left off for the man with the nasty curveball.
RP - Ryan Franklin, the guy has been unhittable as a setup man so far this year, and is the lone Cardinal on the team.
CL - Cordero, no one can touch him, he's been amazing all year.
Manager - Yost, he's got a young team beleiving in themselves and playing great baseball.

6 teams no compition, its about who got lucky everyone should have studs all the way around with lots of studs on waivers.
I will tell you this dump Randy Moss and pick up someone like B Edwards at WR.
Reply:Trade moss. It wont get any better for him. Maybe someone will over value him. Other thant that you have a pretty good team.
Reply:Great team, but drop Cooley...Dallas just had their bye week and you can use Witten every week. Pick up another WR for depth.
Reply:Start Grossman over Hasslebak and trade your receivers for some decent ones. Use their names as trading leverage. However, Moss is a total bust this season, and Chad Johnson will not put up the same numbers as last few years because they have too many good weapons now. RB's and Defense are ok, TE are ok...
Reply:get another kicker and switch out hasseleback and grossman depending on their opponents put grossman in because if im not wrong hes facing seatle and bears have a good defence so do not start hasselback this week
good luck

Should I trade Torii Hunter for Nick Swisher inf Fantasy Baseball?
Swisher moved up to second in the batting order on Wednesday, in an attempt to stimulate the A's slumping lineup. With this happening you can expect move at-bats from him and more opportunities. Right now, Hunter hasn't been producing as well as Swisher. Making Swisher the better player in the trade.
Reply:I'd take Swisher over Hunter at this point... Swisher is primed for a breakout year - look for somewhere around 30-35 HRs and about 100 RBIs from him... Hunter on the other hand is getting up there in age and is on the decline... he may get some more steals than Swisher but he should only hit 20-25 HRs with about 80-85 RBIs...
Reply:Comparison of '06 season:
Swisher: 106 runs, 35 homers, 95 RBIs, 1 steal, .254 AVG .372 OBP

Hunter: 86 runs 31 homers 98 RBIs 16 steals .278 AVG
.336 OBP

Swisher had more solid stats with the OBP, runs, rbi's, and homers. Hunter stole more, but just take a quick glance at age and you will see the difference. Swisher is in his prime. Hunter-4 years past his prime.
Take Swisher.

I am going to be honest with you. You wasted your high draft picks on WR (YOUR FIRST TWO PICKS BETTER HAD BEEN JOHNSON AND WARD BECAUSE NOBODY ELSE YOU DRAFTED IS TOP 25).
QB- Roethlisberger is a WINNER but he has not put up fantasy numbers, at best his production has shown him to be a top BACKUP! now if you are predicting he is about to put up huge numbers than that is different but you would need a quality backup in a good offense (Trent Green, Byron Leftwhich or Steve McNair) Mark Brunell has not shown himself to be that type of player since moving to Washington.
RB- Julius Jones and Domnic Davis are both injury prone, there is a good chance that in Week 4 you will be starting two rookies (reggie bush and Wali Lundy) There is noway you should have allowed yourself to get stuck with this running back situation. IF they are healthy they both can be productive, but neither one has proven to be healthy.
WR- You are good, nothing to say but watch out for Ward hamstring.
K %26amp; TE - Decent selections based on production and potential.
W/R - Please read RB and take out Dominic Davis and Julius Jones and put in Ahmed Green
DEF - Pittsburgh Good
D- linebackers good (no way of figuring out how high you drafted these guys from the looks of your team you drafted them hopefully before running backs).
Reply:solid, but it looks like you put too much emphasis on wide receivers... this is good for a 10-12 man league though
Reply:probably a few too many receivers, but lots of potential for huge days
Reply:Not a bad team.
QBs - Big Ben isn't going to put up huge fantasy #s since the Steelers are a run-first team. Brunell had a great season last year %26amp; has plenty of good receiving options, but he's otherwise a question mark w/ an injury history and Jason Campbell waiting to take over. You might want to upgrade there.
WRs - solid
RBs - Domanick Davis may spend the season on the bench %26amp; Ahman Green hasn't had a healthy full season in a while. J. Jones, R. Bush, C. Brown and W. Lundy should provide you with plenty of options, however.
TE - solid, but no backup for bye week
K - see TE
DEF - see TE
IDPs - I've never played IDPs before, so I have no idea how well those players will do. But on the surface, they don't seem like the kind of players that are going to light up the stat boards. However, I could be quite wrong.
You have a good team, but like I said, you might want to look into an upgrade at QB %26amp; make sure that the waiver wires will have what you need at TE, K and DEF.
Reply:Everything looks good except RB's. kinda weak there. must be a 12 team league.
Reply:I would say average to below average. You are relying on Pitt to have a great game every game if you decide to start Ben, Hines, and the Def at the same time.
Reply:very weak at rb
Reply:your quarterbacks could always be better, ben and mark are decent, and your rb squad needs to be upgraded, you better just hope bush gets the starting nod because even though davis is a decent rb, he gets hurt to often, same with chris brown and in ten. they have a deep rb squad with henry and white. and ahmen green has gone way down hill
Reply:Oh man that is horrible dominick davis might not even start and julius jones is a split back, you have too many wide recievers and almost none of them point makers.

Try and trade Reggie Bush, hopefully you can package him and Dominc Davis together for a healthy RB. Personally I would be going after Ronnie Brown

Don't listen to what everyone else has said..
i don't mean to bad mouth them or anything, but you have a GUTSY team..
id give you an 86...
pitching depth is more important then you will ever imagine, do not trade your pitchers before the season starts..
you are at an advatange to the rest of the league by having these players...
pitchers get hurt sooo often it is so important to have a deep rotation...
dude you are in position to finish in a high spot, and you've got guys like Colon who can bounce back and make your team even stronger...
you fill a lot of stat categories, and i really wouldn't change anything...

I don't think Sanchez will compete for the batting title this year, and other than average he provides no other category well. Beltre is a below average 3rd baseman. Podsednik is injured and may miss April, he's also a one trick pony with steals and since his injury was to his leg he might not be fully healthy till June. Hunter and Cabrera aren't great fantasy options. You only have power in Pujols and Hafner and not a lot of speed.
As for pitching, Ben Sheets is always injured half the year, Pedro is out till June, Wang wins games but couldn't get a strike out to save his life. Garland and Contretras are solid back ups. And you've got a good closer corps.

Reply:Dump Pedro and move Putz + Sanchez for a real good 2B, last year was a flash in the pan for Sanchez and you should sell as high as possible on him.
Reply:I'd say around a 50. You need some help with your batting lineup. Pitching seems good to me.
Reply:Yes you have too many closers I would look to add a big bat in the outfield, that is your weakest position. Look around your league for anybody that needs a closer, dont trade k-rod as he is the best of the bunch, but any of the other guys could pull you a decent outfielder. Try to go after Delmon Young ,Juan Pierre, or Mike Cameron to help with steals. Also, maybe look to get a better shortstop than Crosby, target guys like Julio Lugo or Bill Hall. I would rate your team an 85, with your pitching being your strongest point. Check out this Blog that ranks every position

I'd trade T. Hunter and C. Floyd for a premier colser. Maybe J. Isringhausen, B. Jenks, or M. Rivera or maybe even J. Papelbon or F. Rodriguez.
Don't take the trade. C. Floyd is very good trade bait. While R. Cano isn't that good of trade bait. Look for J. Borowski(Flo-RP), S. Camp(TB-RP) he's goin to take over the closing job in TB cuz T. Walker is on the DL. I'd would alos look into trading J. WEstbrook or T. Armas for T. Hoffman or M. Gonzalez, closers that don't get that much oppurtunities but will give u a save here and there.
And that Japenese guy for the Dodgers. He's good.
Reply:it's good that you have turnbow.......u must trade floyd and edmonds in order to get a saves guy. i would always recommend rivera, but if he's too tough to get, as i would imagine, go for trevor hoffman, bob wickman, or ryan dempster.

Reply:In a roto league, if you are proficiently bad in one category with little hope of recovery, you may want to consider trading Turnbow and beefing up your other categories. If you worry too much about compensating for the lack of saves, you'll wind up blowing the other categories.
Reply:First of all, do not trade Floyd for Cano. Floyd is just off to a slow start. He's notorious for second half play.
If you're really desperate for a closer I would suggest Elmer Dessens of the Royals, he won't see many opportunities however. But he can play the SP position, it's use for for me because I have six closers.
And if you have a DL spot open, pick up (KC) Mike MacDougal. He should return in two weeks, and will have no trouble regaining the closer position.
Shawn Camp is the newest closer for the Devil Rays after the Tyler Walker injury.
DET's Rodney is an excellent pick up, if available. Todd Jones is 38 and has contract problems. I doubt he will end the season as closer.
CIN's Todd Coffey has become their new closer, however Weathers may return to that role so keep an eye on him.
Also keep an eye on Valverde, he's cold right now, but Melvin expected him to return to the closer role.
Ray, Putz, Borowski are likely taken, but if not definitely pick them up.

2 me Albert Pujols is the best baseball player and he is on the best team ever "ST. LOUIS CARDINALS!"
Reply:id say its an alright team maybe a 6 or 7 outta 10 considering the fact that some of those guys are falling apart and might need future surgery. Id pick up a couple red sox if i were you to.
Reply:It looks strong... But REALLY injury prone with central figures like:
Pujols- Gonna need complete elbow reconstruction.
Berkman- He's had trouble.
Matsui- Trouble.
Rolen- On the decline.
Angels Pitching- Lackey's out for awhile.
Reply:lets say out of 10 id rate this team a 6.5 u should make a trade for a more athletic outfiler. A guy who can put up a little higher then league average in all major stat catagories. Just adding a guy like that would make ur team an 8.5 .
( Fukudome can become that guy but he is a little older so im not sure.)
Reply:Looks really good.
Reply:It looks good but you don't have Manny or David Ortiz.
Reply:Awesome team! Pujols is probably the best player in the MLB once he recovers from his injury.

14 Kansas City Royals (P, KC)
15 Scott Rolen (3B, TOR)
Fantasy team?

My 12 team draft picks..please rate?

My 12 team draft picks..please rate?
qb palmer cin- the second best QB
rb jackson,s stl - he wont have as many carries, but he will catch passes too, a top 5 rb
jones,j dal -he's dallas yardage back, not many td's tho, a solid second back tho
wr johnson c, cin- cinco ocho, not much more to say
jackson,d sfo- he was a question in seattle, and not much has changed about him, so he's a crapshoot
cotcherty nyj/muhammad, chi/bennett,d stl- cotchery and mushin are solid 2 string WRs and bennett is a 3rd on the rams so jerricho and mushin will have decent production, bennett...no
te heap balt-also has been a top three TE
k keading sdc- kaeding will hit alot of extra points and field goals wont be as high as robbie gould or josh reed but a very good pick at PK
def ravens - wont be the best def this year since aduilus thomas moved to the pats. so this year its pats 1, ravens 2 bears 3
bench
qb harrington(lol)- well, he is a starter, thats all with him
rb jones k det- jones would be better then julius in your starting team
wr walker wes, ne- i doubt he'll even put up 3rd wideout numbers in the pass to everything NE offense
def cheifs chiefs are solid on into's and decnet in sacks, but the run will punish them
k scobee j jax -he'll definately get alot of fg's but he's just a replacement in a bye week
Reply:Nice squad
Reply:It's decent but you're screwed with no back-up RBs. K Jones is out the first 6 weeks and prob won't play much after that. And Julius wont get the goalline carries. Dump the chiefs D (they suck) and try to get a backup RB like Tony Hunt or brian leonard or leon washington or someone who might actually get some carries esp when injury-prone Westbrook goes down again.
You don't want a back-up kicker either. You can always pick one up off the waiver wire for Keading's bye week or the ravens bye week.
Reply:not bad
Reply:you are prolly going to do real good with that team, your bye weeks are gonna sting a bit.

Would you rate my hitting squad?
C Mike Piazza (Oak - C) 1B Paul Konerko (CWS - 1B)
2B Brian Roberts (Bal - 2B) 3B David Wright (NYM - 3B)
SS Hanley Ramírez (Fla - SS) OF Andruw Jones (Atl - OF)
OF Eric Byrnes (Ari - OF) OF Austin Kearns (Was - OF)
Util Ryan Freel (Cin - 2B,3B,OF)
BN Jim Edmonds (StL - OF) BN David Ross (Cin - C)
Would you rate my hitting squad?
I assume you are playing in a 5x5 (R,HR, RBI, AVG, SB) league since you have some speed in the line up. Based on that premise, I would say you are above average at C,1B, 3B, and SS. If you Roberts plays well again this year, I would guess that you would have one of the top 3 infields in a 12 team league.
Your Bench players are not very strong. I would dump Edmonds, as his best days are far behind him. Ross is a decent catcher, but there will be at least one who emerges later during the year who will be as good - so dump him as well. Piazza will be playing DH anyway, so he should be able to avoid injury.
I would move Kearns and Freel to the bench early in the season. Both could emerge as starters later on, but I wouldn't feel comfortable counting on their production as starters. Both can be rather up and down players.
I am not sure who is available in your league, but I would look for guys like Jacque Jones, Kenny Lofton, Willy Taveras, Chris Duncan, Moises Alou, Brad Hawpe, or Aubrey Huff. These guys are all available in more than 40% of the leagues I am in right now. All would be significant improvements over Edmonds.
Reply:I would say 8 out of 10
I really like your blend of power (Konerko, Jones, Wright) and speed (Hanley and Freel) with some guys that can do a little of both (Roberts and Byrnes).
The only room for improvement I think you have is at the third outfield spot with Kearns and possibly with the Util spot and Freel. I personally think Kearns isn't as good as people give him credit for and because he's going to be hitting in a pitchers park for half of his games i think his numbers will drop off... and as for Freel - he has never been able to hit with a high enough average and he doesn't have any power at all... I do like the idea of having Freel on the bench though in case someone gets hurt and he will give you those extra steals...
But all in all - good drafting and good luck this season!
Reply:If its a 12 team league then I guess it would be a 7 or 8.
I preferred Utley at 2B
and Pujols at 1B and Soriano over Kearns
Reply:It's not bad. Piazza and Jones could be great because Piazza is just DH-ing and Jones is in a contract year. Ramirez is going to get tons of steals. David Wright is awsome and hopefully, for you, Brian Roberts comes back strong. Brynes, Kearns, Freel Edmonds are definitely a stretch though.
Reply:I'd give it a 6 out of 10. You have a decent average potential, but for the most part, your squad lacks true power and rbi potential. The runs generated from Roberts, Wright, Ramirez, Byrnes and Freel, as well as the steals, should allow you to be near the top of the league in that category.
But your hitting isn't very complete, and if you're in a head-to-head league, I wouldn't trust relying just on my hits/runs/steals because they're are better potential teams out there. In fact, head-to-head my fantasy team would lead your team in all those categories.
Reply:Piazza, decent but getting too old
Konerko, a stud
Roberts, best all around 2b in the game
Wright, solid hitter with protection all around him
Ramirez, young, but good. Still needs some work
Jones, will produce some runs for you but Braves suck
Byrnes, solid player, but you can do much better on OF
Kearns, way too streaky, last year came on strong, but overall average
Freel, a lot of heart, decent numbers
Edmonds, done, get rid of him
Ross, ???
Reply:Very good - good power, decent speed. Byrnes and Kearns are weak links, I would try to upgrade there. And Freel can't be counted on as he has no given position and ends up hurt all the time.

any tips? what are my strengths? weaknesses?
How is my fantasy baseball team!?
Your pitching looks very good and your batting is strong too.Try to trade some of the good players at backups for maybe a better catcher(isn't bad but you could find better)and maybe 2B.Once agian not bad but there are better.Cubs fan?9/10
Reply:82, Good balance, you will have a low team batting average and low strikeouts. Also SB's may be hard to come by. I would put Hoffman in as RP until Zumaya gets established as a closer.
Reply:Do have anybody from the White Sox or Dodgers you only one from the Cards and Red sox,
The only Good player you gots is Trevor Hoffman that's it.
Reply:Were you in a draft full of retards? Your team is STACKED
Reply:yea that team sucks
Reply:I would say an 80...your only weakness that I see is that you dont really have any base stealers. Soriano I feel is a gamble. If you look at his stats at Wrigley Field you will see why. Your team looks pretty good though.
Reply:good but you need better pitching. Keep Carpenter and Jenks. Try to get Cain (SF), Peavy (SD), Saito (LAD), K-Rod (LAA). and there's a guy on the Marlins who I can't remember...white guy and not Josh Johnson.
Reply:u need hoffman as a starter for the saves and you could possibly use some steals. you have really good outfielders and 3rd basemen but you could use a better catcher. I give you a 70 out of 100.
Reply:Can't help you with a scoring format and postion information. Do you have 2 players in the game at each position or is one a backup? need to know exact stat categories.

Please help me pick 3 WRs for this week...Thank you?

Reply:Go with Driver, Branch, and White
Driver is one of Favre's favorite targets and he openly praises him after almost every game at the fantastic catches he makes...(which are great catches)...the Dallas secondary is mediocre...not great, but definitely not a defense I would pick to stop Driver...And plus, does GB have much of a run game?...not really, so Favre's gonna throw more and Driver's going to catch a whole lot
Branch is playing for a red hot Hasslebeck right now and with their offense designed to pass the ball over 60% of the time plus with Branch being one of the top WR...easy points there.
Roddy White isn't normally looked on as a good fantasy receiver but against a weak Rams defense he should be good to go since Harrington looks to him a lot.

Reply:Branch - C mon now, he has matt hasselbeck
Driver - Brett Favre can do anything
White - He scored a TD against the colts on Thanksgiving. I expect another one against the RAMS since they have one of the worst secondarys in the league. I mean come on, Hill? Chillar? Atogwe??? Overated people!
Also a 1st round pick, this guy is young, fast, and knowledgable of the game.

Driver @ Dal (Must start)

Branch @Phi (Hackett is injured; play him if healthy)
Not one of these:
Brown vs Sea (QB issue; strong defense)
C. Henry @ Pit (tough defense)
R. White @ STL(not on the same level as the guys above)

NBA Fantasy League I have 4th pick...Who do i take @ 4?!?
If you don't play in these fantasy leagues please don't answer, I need help from experienced veterans of NBA leagues. Thank you. I'm guessing first three go this way...KG,KB24,LBJ leaving Dirk,Arenas,Marion,Wade
Wades out for 2-3 weeks, but he's the guy I want to take. Categories or as follows...pg,sg,sf,pf,c,utility...3pm,as...
all 12 teams make the playoffs winner take all 650 Who should I take?
NBA Fantasy League I have 4th pick...Who do i take @ 4?!?
I would still draft D-Wade even though he'll be out for the start of the season. I always believe in the motto " it's not how you start but how you finsh" .D-Wade will still be a top player when he returns.
Reply:Marion. He's the most balanced and he'll get you something in every stat category almost every night.
Reply:Take "The Matrix". Because he does it all and will help in every categories, he's in the top 15 in all hussle categories. Good Pick with him..
Reply:I would probably go with Marion simply because he can get you solid numbers in almost all stat categories, and he usually stays healthy. (He usually finishes number 1 in yahoo rankings) The reason I would stay away from Wade here is because he plays recklessly and throws his body all over the place leaving him open to injury. I agree it is tempting to go with Wade as he is still improving, but Marion can carry a team in rebounds and help everywhere else.
Reply:Dirk
Reply:i would go with gilbert arenas..hes solid in all catagories and likes to explode with huge numbers once in a while..i dont think you could really go wrong with dirk or wade but thats just what i would do..good luck
Reply:marion...pertty easy choice. he fills up the stats. whats not to love about 20/10/4/2/2?
Reply:Take arenas......hes a statistic machine, will get you many points, a few steals and assits thrown in as well.

Any team with Al should be fine. You have a nice mix of speed and power. Look into replacing your 2 reserve OFs for some hot prospects to add numbers where you need them as time goes on. Bonds and Alou are injury prone and old, so they are the guys to upgrade.
Reply:Your definitly solid at all of your starting positions. However, I don't think your team is that deep. None of them were extremely productive last year. If your starters stay healthy though, you should have a nice season.

Fair Deal?
How fair is this potential deal?
Team 1 Gets: Mike Napoli, C - LAA and Chris Duncan, OF - STL
Team 2 Gets: Raul Ibanez, OF - SEA
What is the true value of the two outfielders? Will Duncan really hit 30 homers like the projections say?
Fair Deal?
Duncan hit 21 homers in 375 at bats last year as a starter against mainly righties. He batted .271 with 20 of his 21 HRs against righties. The problem is, that he batted .213 against lefties and he will face a lot more lefties than he faced last year (since he is a full time starter in left field) and he only had 80 ABs against lefties last season. Expect him to not hit homers at the same rate against lefties, and so the 30 HRs asked about is unlikely, but possible. He might actually have a worse BA then last year, but I do expect between 25-30 HRs. The RBIs are his real value as 70 RBIs in 375 ABs make me hope that in 630 ABs will make his RBIs sky over 100.
Napoli is an average catcher who hits .247 and had 10 HRs. I don't touch that. Give me a young guy with upside (Towles, Doumit) over Napoli.
Ibanez is fantasy gold compared to Napoli and Duncan. His batting average is .280 or better in the last 3 years and it continues to get better (.291 last year). He went down from 33 HRs to 21, and went from 123 to 105 in RBIs, but at least you know the power and potiential is there (he did have 50 less at bats as well). It seems everyone is always down on this guy, but I like Ibanez better than Duncan for sure.
Reply:probably fair. i like Ibanez. Napoli hasn't lived up to his hype and I doubt Duncan hits more than 25 hr. Plus he'll have low average. Ibanez might his 20, with good average and 100 rbi.

Assuming a 12-person league. If you're playing in a deeper league, I would upgrade my ratings. If your league is smaller than 10, I would downgrade.
Starters: 7.5
Pitching: 7
Bench: 6
C.Paul Lo Duca (C, NYM)--The good news is catcher is a weak postion; the bad news is Lo Duca isn't that good.
1b.Albert Pujols (1B, STL)--Congrats on getting the top pick!
2b.Freddy Sanchez (2B, 3B, SS, PIT)--hurt right now. make sure you start the season with Hudson at 2B. When healthy, Sanchez is solid, but don't expect a batting average as good as last year's.
3b.Chipper Jones (3B, ATL)--I took this gamble too. He's getting old and he's injury-prone. But if he can stay healthy, he can still put up good numbers.
SS.Jimmy Rollins (SS, PHI)--Solid SS. At the top of an awesome Philadelphia line-up (Rollins, Victorino, Utley, Howard)
OF.Adam Dunn (OF, CIN)--Good power. Average will hurt a bit, but you knew that.
OF.Matt Holliday (OF, COL)--An outfield star playing in a great place for batters!
OF.Hideki Matsui (OF, NYY)--He's healthy, and the Yankees are still tough. Expect good things.
P.Chicago White Sox (P, CWS)--Going to be interesting. They are a year removed from having an elite pitching staff. That said, Contreras isn't getting younger and Jenks has had a rough spring. Can you pick up Baltimore as insurance (they may surprise people--Bedard's a stud, Cabrera and Loewen are coming along; Ray is a good closer)
Bench
Khalil Greene (SS, SD)--Okay. Rollins is much better. I remember a couple of years ago when I thought Greene would be special. I no longer think that.
Frank Thomas (1B, TOR)--Had a monster year last year--a true resurgence. Your trick is going to be getting him in your line-up, because it doesn't appear that you play a utility spot.
Craig Monroe (OF, DET)--okay; nothing special.
David DeJesus (OF, KC)--Expected to have a break out year. Good pick!
Orlando Hudson (2B, ARI)--He's fine. You're lucky to have him in light of Sanchez's situation.
Mike Lowell (3B, BOS)--He's fine and is good insurance for Chipper. He'll never be the monster he was in Florida, but he is a good fantasy back-up.

Reply:Looking at your team I must say that I am quite impressed. It is obvious to me that you must be very experienced and possess a great deal of baseball savvy. Your team is among the finest that I have seen this season and I commend you on your choices.
You have assembled a team with a great mix of speed and power, as well as a very solid pitching staff. Although there may be some injury concerns, the depth that you have built into this team is extraordinary. You appear headed to victory and a very satisfying season.
If you haven't done so, I suggest that you look into the possibility of making this more than a hobby. You certainly have some keen insights on the way a baseball team is assembled.

Reply:Ok, you've got some pop at the top of your lineup but your infield leaves some to be desired and your pitching staff is right out horrendous.
Were I you, I would consider trading Albert (I know, I know) for a pitching stud and whoever else you can get for him and shifting JM into first.
Or maybe package JM and the Big Hurt into a package...something to upgrade that staff.
Reply:You have alot of question marks on your team that would make me worried. 1st, Jose Valentin, there has to be other options at 2nd basemen because he is not going to be much of a contributor, maybe an Aaron Hill, Dustin Pedroia or Adam Kennedy, at least they will put up something positive. Secondly, your starting pitching is old, and many have the risk of doing nothing or getting hurt (RJ, Colon, Lowe). My recommendation is to try and find some players people don't know, that might have huge years, look at last year some of the biggest players were FA's at the beginning of the year (Justin Morneau %26amp; Dan Uggla for example).

Which RB to start?
Touchdown only league, no points for yards.
who should I start as my 2nd RB this week.
Droughns vs Miami (Ward not playing)
J Wright vs STL (Lewis has been hurt)
C Taylor vs PHI (Has played hurt all year)
Which RB to start?
id go with wright. droughs will be backin up jacobs, and after lasts week controversy in minn of AP only touchin the ball 12 times, peterson will def. be gettin more looks
Reply:Droughns vs. Miami because he will be splitting handoffs vs. a horrible Miami defense and Droughns is the go to guy when in the redzone it there is a rushing td for NYG Droughns will get it. Other info. Jamal Lewis guaranteed he will be starting so that shuts down J. Wright. And Chester Taylor has to count on Adrian Peterson to either suck it up or get injured for him to play cuz Adrian is the go to running back now.
Reply:I'd give Droughns the nod.
Lewis is playing and I'm not sure about Taylor, but Peterson will get more looks at the endzone.
I think Droughns should be able to find the endzone once against a weak dolphins defense. He already is the goaline RB, and will see more looks with Ward out.

Pick 2 RB's to start Please!!!!!?

J. Lewis Vs. HOU
C. Taylor Vs. NYG "peterson out for game"
R. Dayne Vs. CLE

Reply:If these are your choices, then your RBs are as beat up as mine are....
Taylor for certain, as he's a proven commodity. As for a #2, I think they're just about equal before kickoff. If I had to make the decision, however, I would go with Ron Dayne.
I think Lewis is slowing down and will have a hard time with Houston's D-Line.
I have the worst feeling that Seattle will be blown out (that wasn't a misprint) and that will take away Morris' effectiveness.
Dayne still isn't a choice I feel good about, but Cleveland's D-Line stinks and they're multidimensional again with Schaub and Johnson back and (mostly) healthy.
Good luck!

I have a couple question and can u rate my team please?
1. Should I trade M.Bulger for D.Culpepper?
2. Clinton portis is injured so what should I do? I'm thinking about trading for E.James maybe try for R.Johnson, but other names come up too R.Brown, L. Jordan, C.Williams and W. McGahee.

RB C.Portis(Was)
RB S.Jackson(Stl)
RB R.Droughns(Cle)

DEF Seatle(Sea)
I'm trying to get T.Jones(Drop L.Smith) and D.Rhodes(Drop J.Wilkins) from free agents, what do you think about that?
I have a couple question and can u rate my team please?
Where do I start?? Okay, your first question. If you can get Culpepper for Bulger, you flat out do it. Culpepper is going to regain the glory of two years ago. He has the weapons and the motivation. Bulger is a adequate QB but aging and so are his weapons.
Clinton is a problem and has been one for some time. You really need another bonafide starter. Jackson is great but Droughns is a dog. I'm not sure who you are thinking about trading to get Edge, or any of the other backs you mentioned, but you will certainly have to give up something good. Not a huge problem as you are stacked at WR.
As far as dropping Smith for Jones, if you do that than don't make any trade. You will have successfully picked up another starting RB. Rhodes is going to split time with Addai.
The rest of your team is solid. You have good TEs and excellent Ks. Your D is good. Your WRs rock and give you the best advantage for leverage. You are sitting pretty. I understand your need to improve your team, though. If you have to lose someone, lose Wilkins for Jones. I think that would shore up your RB woes without comprimising your team.
Portis will be back by week 2 or 3. He's not an outstanding back, but he will put up points. If I were you, I would hold on to everything good you have and let it ride on Jones. Think about it? It would kinda be like having your cake and eating it too. In a few weeks, your starting RBs would be Portis, Jackson and Jones. Not bad, if you ask me. The best part is, you wouldn't have to give up anything that important to do it. Your WR corp would still be in tact and you stand to score a bunch with them.
Good luck!
Reply:Yeah, you are right. You are a bit weak at RB.
If you can pick up D Rhodes, do it. He's not ranked high this year, but Indianapolis always scores a ton of points. He filled in fine for James years past - not sure why people are down on him. They have to run sometime.
Ronnie Brown is going to be pretty good this year too.
Otherwise, you have a fairly solid team.
Definitely trade for Culpepper. I think he's going to be great this year.
Reply:decent team, see how it works the first week and go from there

Is this a fair trade??
I give:
B. Colon (LAA-SP)
B. Bonds (SF-OF)
I get:
J. Isringhausen (STL-RP)
B. McCann (ATL-C)
C. Crawford (TB-OF)
Is this a fair trade??
If i were you, i would definitely pull the trade.
Colon: hasnt pitched much, and when he has, he has struggled. All the time he has spent on the DL really impacts his value.
Bonds: overhyped.
Isringhausen: decent closer, not the best as he will blow a save here and there, but plays for the cards. Tons of opportunites there.
McCann and Crawford: both very good players for their position. Crawford's main attraction is his steals though, not much for power.
Reply:I don't think so. But thats cuz its in your favor. Do you need a closer? Crawford just had a 5 hit, 5 run, 4SB night so I would do it in a second.
Reply:make the trade quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is this really a question. look at bond's numbers. they're horrible.
Reply:i'd do it.
Reply:take the trade
Reply:Yes. You are getting the best deal. Colon is injured and doesn't seem to have his good stuff. If he comes back he won't be good til VERY late in the season. Bonds isn't gonna get you good points because he is focused too much on the record. Isringhausen is gonna get A LOT of saves. McCann is a great hitting catcher and Crawford is a base stealing machine. You have to do this trade.
Reply:If i were you i would do it.....although both of you are giving up struggling players. Crawford's hanging around a 250 batting average.....Igrihausen has blown alot of saves..but McCann is hitting 340 this year. Also, yur getting rid of alot of dead weight because Colon is hurt and Bonds doesnt play alot.
Reply:If you have not done this yet I'd be very disappointed.
Bonds does not play regularly enough to warrant a slot on your daily roster. McCann may be a good second catcher for you and great trade bait when a catcher gets injured. I love having Crawford on my team.
Reply:not sure it's fair, but it's definitely a good deal for you.
Colon is hurt and isn't doing well anyway this year.
Bonds isn't going to put up big numbers for anything except walks.
Isringausen will rack up saves since the Cardinals will win lots of games.
McCann is currently hurt but is a decent catcher.
Crawford will put up great steal numbers.
So it doesn't seem to be a fair trade, but it definitely favors you.

Safety of these select St.louis suburbs.?
I am from se missouri and am thinking of attending the university of missouri-st.louis in the near future. I was wondering how safe the suburbs of Normandy, Bel-Nor, Pasadena park, Glen Echo park, and Greendale and many of the other st.louis suburbs near the campus of umsl b/c that is the vicinity of where i will be living. I know that the crime and violence in stl is way overrated b/c i have been there many times and absolutely love the city. I appreciate any info. that is given. Thank you.
Safety of these select St.louis suburbs.?
i used to live in hazelwood, in north county. i'd go there, or to florissant if i were you. they're both fairly safe, and the drive to umsl isn't bad. where in se mo did you live? i lived in cape girardeau for about 2 years.

Should i keep Kazmir?
Im a huge rays fan and i have a lot of confidence in him , but he still has to get in his rythym that pitchers have to get in-plus it usually takes him half the season to break out anyway.I want to keep him, but than again, i want to make a trade for B.J. Upton before he gets even hotter and nobody will get rid of him-

Should i keep Kazmir?
There is no way that you would rather keep Bonderman and Saunders over Kazmir.
he is a proven ace and he might not have 19 wins, but he will have a low average and alot of strike outs. He has been doing well in the rehab outings and there is no reason to think he won't adjust immediately.
Saunders won't be this good all year, and Bonderman might get 15+ wins, but his ERA will be in the high 4.00s.

10 person league, head-to-head. I will tell you my team then list the good Free Agents. My strategy is to get good batting and get pitchers late (b/c you can always pick up quality pitchers), and to get lots of Sp's(lots of sps=lots of Ks, so just need Sp's with low era + many wins). I might lack a bit power, and i try to adress that. My Team:

Could you rate my team from 1-10, and give me some pointers/tips and maybe what I should do with my team?
Pick up Edmonds, and Drew.
Wainwright is classified as a releiver but he's going to be a starter for St. Louis. He's a good sleeper pick! Great Pick!
Get rid of Hafner, Bay, and Sowers.
As for your other question keep Hensley because he can have a great year with lots of strikeouts!
Reply:well your team looks pretty good overall.
hitting: your right, you do lack just a lil bit of power. but you have holiday and hafner so they will get the bulk of your HR's. you might be in better shape if fielder has a steller year. you look good on steals and runs. so just keep an eye on guys like garret anderson and stephen drew. garret will post some good numbers and stephen is a rookie so he has some upside.
pitching: your pitching is good but you lack that top-notch guy. you might be able to get away with it with your platoon of "medicre pitchers" so you might be ok there. also i like your RP's.. you should be set there.
pick ups: like i said with the hitters, watch garret anderson and stephen drew. pitchers, of course you have to watch zumaya. as soon as todd jones goes down, the flamethrower will be in there. other then that i dont like much on your pitching waiver wire.
overall ill give your team an 8 outta 10.
good luck!!
Reply:7-8! Ok balance, but nothing stands out. Relief may be overkill. Lots of relief guy strategies can kill you. I lived that strategy a few times. LOL. Lower ERA. NOPE. Never worked out for me anyway. Injuries will get you.
---First off, I keep Hensley, not Sowers. He's primed to become a ace(esp. in SD) according to many.
---Izzy along with Gagne may be some good trade material. Both are falling out of the top 20 as relievers. Consider it even if it sounds suicidal. LOL Still strong w/o them.
---Wainwright may put up some big numbers as a setup building up to suceeding Izzy. Remember he had 4 saves in the playoffs in Izzy's absence? Can Iz make it?
---G. Anderson is supposed to primed for another big season as an OF. Remember him as a 30HR 100+RBI guy? Good pick-up to help a light hitting OF. Youre OF needs some pop somewhere. NOT Griff or AK!!!
---Encarnacion in Cincy? Good potential on a team that made little improvement. Think about finding another 3rd.
---Kendrick? Too soon to ride him as an everyday 2B w/o a safety net. you know a Ryan Freel type multi position guy is what i usually get just in case. Wigginton was who I used last year. He had 2b,3b,OF. I spelled injuries w/him and days off! If he's available again, check him out. He's still in TB where they have to play him. LOL. Gotta get #'s there, right?
---Johjima had a great rookie year, but watch for the sophomore slump. Put a flag on David Ross in Cincy. He hit 21 HR's in under 250 AB last year and with Larue gone may eat 500 AB this year. I know I said Cincy made no improvement and to look away from EE, but I think this is one exception. Hamilton in cincy as a rook if Griff stays down.Flag him to watch.
---Turbow was a disaster last year and will be a gain til he gains control of his offspeed stuff.
---Zumaya, wow. What a pitcher. Don't know what value he'd have on fantasy unless he gets the nod to closer though. Could hide him in case. He may get hot once some guys in your league find out he is the hardest thrower in MLB.
Not a bad team, but without some more power and run production that pitching staff can't pull you past those even match ups. I know you said that. LOL. Those are the thing I believe will make you more formidable.
Reply:I would start Brad Hawpe (22 HR's/84 RBI)over Rocco Baldelli (16 HR's/54 RBI), Hawpe last year broke out and he is playing in Colorado where HR's are hit on the regular, i have a feeling that Hawpe will hit about 25-28 while Baldelli will finish with his normal 13-15.
I would then start Travis Hafner (.308/42 HR/117 RBI) at 1B over Prince Fielder (.271/28 HR/81 RBI). Hafner has proven himself as one of the premiere offensive players in the game while Prince Fielder is still unproven and even if he has a good year it wont be nearly what Hafner will put up (an MVP candidate).
Your lineup is dangerous especially with 2 great pickups (IMO) in Howie Kendrick and Edwin Encarnacion. These are 2 young studs who are gonna have great seasons this year, probably hit 55-60 HR between the 2. Kenji Johjima is in his second year and last year he flashed signs of being a very good offensive catcher and should breakout even more this season. Matt Holliday and Jason Bay are 2 of the most underrated OF's (offensively) in the game and both should have great seasons quietly. Jose Reyes gives you speed, average, and surprisingly a little more power than ppl realize. 10-12 HR for a leadoff guy isnt bad at all.
Pitching: Good staff but not great unless AJ Burnett lives up to the hype (which he didnt last season). CC Sabathia is in the running for Cy Young and with the lineup behind him should reach 18 possibly 20 wins. AJ Burnett is good but he just hasnt been worth all the money. Chris Young was one of the surprises last season with SD and based on pure talent alone he will have a great career. Rich Hill is another young and talented pitcher and i expect him to have a breakout year this season and if the offense erupts like its supposed to he could win 15 games easily. I would keep Jeremy Sowers over Hensley. I like Hensley but Sowers is a beast and again has a great offense and defense playing alongside of him. John Patterson could be a hell of a pickup if he pitches like he did 2 seasons ago when he finished the season with an ERA of around 3.20. Your relief pitching has talent but i would ditch Jason Isringhausen, he is done for as a top reliever. Pick up Joel Zumaya, kid is a STUD and tops over 100 regularly. Plus he knows how to pitch which is a plus. Some of these things are wrong, like Adam Wainwright is def. gonna be a starter this season so i would def. have him in my top 5. Cliff Lee and AL Reyes are listed as RP but in reality they are very good SP. Cliff Lee is a hell of a pitcher and Al Reyes broke out last season helping lead what was deemed a "weak staff" to a WS last season. John Maine isnt a bad pickup either but i would wait, he has had flashes of greatness but see how he does in a full season first. Zach Duke is a stud even though he is playing for a horrible Pittsburgh team. If i were you i would go with these guys in this order:
CC Sabathia
Chris Young
Rich HIll
Cliff Lee
AJ Burnett
Adam Wainwright
Zach Duke
Jeremy Sowers
Al Reyes
Drop Olsen and Hensley for sure, maybe keep Patterson. Def. drop Isringhausen for Zumaya. I would get rid of Gagne for Derrick Turnbow. Gagne is to risky right now, already starting the season on the DL. Def. gotta make your closer Mariano Rivera.
The only FA worth picking up for offense is Ken Griffey Jr., id grab him for Baldelli if i were you. Griffey last season hit .300 with 30 bombs and about 90 RBI before going down, although he does get hurt often when he's in he is dangerous and actually throughout the last 2 years he's getting closer and closer to being healthy for an entire season. If you want power and RBI potential Griffey is much better than Baldelli.
As i see it right now, your team is about an 8.2, thats just b/c ur pitching staff is a little iffy with AJ Burnett and a bunch of youngsters and also your lineup is full of young players to, you never know what may happen they could turn into prodigy's or lose it forever.
Hope it helped, best of luck.

I am currently in last place 29.5 games back from first place and i am going nuts about the way my team is performing. Should I hit the panic button and give up or is this team going to turn it around and soon? i need some suggestion on who to trade, who to drop and who to pick up?

Well, don't give up; we haven't even hit June yet. It looks like you're just suffering from poor starts from your studs. Pujols, ManRam and Dye are turning it around. Figgins has been invisible. Uggla over Cabrera at utility? Your pitching isn't bad either. Just stay the course and make good decisions with your starting lineup.
Reply:You are having a bad year with a good team. Happens. Keep this team intact and next year you'll be out of last place.
But I think you're a little short of a championship here.
Your priorities ought to be:
1. Clean out the deadwood. Frank Thomas--gone! Pick up a promising young catcher from the waiver wire--you need a backup catcher anyway to fill in on IRod's days off. I'd try to trade Manny before he gets worthless, and the day is coming soon. Drop Ibanez (he once was great) and see if Josh Hamilton or another wunderkind OF is available as a free agent. Dan Johnson may be iffy as a long-term 1B since Oakland has Daric Barton about ready for the bigs, and you have IRod as a backup 1B if you get a decent backup at C, so consider that when making moves.
2. See if you can trade up for at least one top-tier starting pitcher. Are any of the Marlins' pitchers available as FA? If not, maybe Snell or Hamels will grow into one for you.
Reply:Drop Vasquez......Try other starters like Chuck James (ATL) Bergman ( Wash ) Gorlezanny ( PIT ) these are younger pitchers to take a chance on. Whatever you do, dont get rid of Peavy or Hamels. Figgins is horrible so far. He is hitting like .140 since of the DL. Atleast get him out of the lineup and try Hunter PEnce ( HOU ) Josh Hamilton ( CINC ) or Reggie Willits ( ANA ) these young guys are doing well. Willits is starting for Garret Anderson, but has been real tough, look for Scosscia to keep him in the lineup even when Anderson comes back. GOOD LUCK !
Reply:wow...you're in last place with this team?...hmmmm...wtf...anyways...your pitching seems in need of some improvement...Jeremy accardo is availble in most leagues, check him out...james shields is also suprisingly available so check him out too...
Reply:Your offense is pretty nasty with the exception of your bench....your probably struggling in that area a bit though because Thome was hurt....but hes back now and on fire.....Figgins is probably killing you right now too. I would suggest trying to get better pitching, im sure theres no one out there though. Maybe you can stash away Phil Hughes or someone like that
