Honestly...





There is really no shot at him accepting this trade. Granted you are getting considerably weaker at the C position and probably the SS one as well, he is giving up what is probably his first 2 draft picks in the league (Ortiz, Santana).





Its extremely hard to pry people from their first 2, let alone in the same trade. Even though Tejada won't put up the same numbers as he did in OAK, he might make them decent in the friendly confinds of Minute Maid Park. With Lee and Berkman hitting with/around him, he could see a lot more pitchers to clobber. The short porch out there makes a nice target for him.





Guillen's numbers are going to go down. With the addition of Miggy to the roster, along with Renteria, numbers are going to have to spread somewhere, and Guillen's might fall. If Miggy hits 5th and Guillen 6th, he could see a drop in production.





Also 1 huge factor...





Beckett is scheduled to miss his first start of the season with a back injury. Those injuries tend to stay with guys for a lot longer than just one start, even though they pitch. Getting a damaged pitcher is one thing, but getting a damaged ace for a stud in Santana is another.





Even though on paper this trade looks good, its actually not. You can propose it, but I doubt he would accept it. If he does happen to accept it...well then geez...I dunno what to say

Reply:No because even though Johan had an off year he is still #1 for pitchers and Tejada missed a month last year and is set to put up good numbers in that ballpark with all those good hitters behind him, and Ortiz is clearly a lot better then Guillen. The only place he wins this trade is with McCann so he would be getting screwed. Trust me Tejada will be good this year.

Reply:This year Tejada just might put up solid numbers in Houston. I dont think anyone would give up the best pitcher in the game and Ortiz. While you are giving up some decent players they are not in the class of what you want, I dont think he will make this trade.
