Rate My Baseball Team...?
I think your team is average at best. I mean, Brian McCann is good but doesnt play everyday. Chris Duncan hits the ball in spurts. Michael Young has been on and off all season. Same can be said about Manny. Adam Dunn strikes out..ALOT. but he does have alot of power. I am not a big fan of having Eric Chavez, another mediocre player. Get rid of Giambi..NOW. He is not hitting when he is healthy so why keep h im? You definitely need to upgrade at the first base position either via trade or something. Try to get rid of one of those high ERA pitchers of yours and an outfielder (like Bedard and Dunn) for a low ERA pitcher and a first baseman. Bedard gets strikeouts but he pitches in the AL East and all those teams can hit the ball (NYY, Boston, Toronto, and even Tampa Bay). Ben Sheets has been banged up but should get better as he gets healthy. I am not a fan of Contreras but if you are desperate then keep him because right now he isnt winning but he might turn it around. He is also old. Try to get another young pitcher. Guthrie? seriously? you cant get a better pitcher than that? I would search the wire to replace him. I think Harang will turn it around. He is solid. Your pitching staff is a mess basically.
