Should I take this Trade Offer?

This guy is offering me S. Podsednik (CWS) and C. Carpenter (StL) for Á. Rodríguez (NYY). What do you all think?

Should I take this Trade Offer?
There are such things as untouchables in fantasy baseball... A few years ago, it was Bonds... But right now, I'd say the two untouchables are A-Rod and Pujols... There is just no way you can justify trading these guys... They are the foundation of your team...

Now, trading A-Rod for Podsednik and Carpenter is not a good deal... Last year, A-Rod put up 124 R, 48 HR, and 130 RBIs... Now those are GREAT numbers for a 3B... At the same time, Podsednik put up 80 R, 0 HR, 25 RBIs but did have 59 SB to A-Rods 3... This all came from an OF spot... And Carpenter just put up a 21 and 5 W-L record with a 2.83 ERA and 213 K's... Now to analyze how they might do this year... A-Rod's line-up has only added a leadoff hitter, which New York lacked all last year... So, A-Rod is hitting in a better line-up this year than last... That only makes his chances of having as good of or better year than last year better... Podsednik will get you steals and that is about it... That is his only value... You could probably get him by trading a second-tier player but not an untouchable! Carpenter is a little trickier... He had an amazing year last year and is following that up with a pretty good year so far...BUT, Carpenter has only had one good year and one truly great year... and pitchers can tend to be fickle...although I would personally love to have him on my team, I could not justify trading A-Rod away for him... I look at it this way... A-Rod is worth two average players worth of production... Carpenter is worth maybe a pitcher and a halfs worth of production (although you'll probably miss out on the sparkling ERA)...

After saying all that, I would not make this trade unless you really feel the need for SB's and your pitching is headed by Jon Leiber...
Reply:If your getting arod then take it
Reply:Whoever is giving up A-rod in this deal is getting ripped off. Podsednik should not be in baseball, because he is worthelss. Similarly, he should not be on your fantasy baseball team, because he cant get on base and when youre not on base you cant steal bases. Carpenter is overrated from last year. Keep A-rod, or take him if you get him in the trade.
Reply:id ask for a 3rd baseman is he has it and it would depend on the pitching you have
Reply:pass!
Reply:If you get A-Rod, then take it. Not the other way around.
Reply:I agree Posednik is a one category guy and I'd say pass. However if you need SP try trading ARod for David Wright and that owner's best SP. You may have to throw in a second player but that sort of deal would be more beneficial as the drop off from aRod to Wright isn't that big.
Reply:I assume your getting A-Rod, so do it.
Reply:It really depends on the rest of your team and how many teams are in your league. If you need a quality starter then Carpenter is your guy, and no he's not over rated. But if you have a ton of teams in your league and you're not going to be able to get a decent 3rd basemen then you might have to re-think. Podsednik is struggling right now but will not last the whole season. The man stole 130 bases the past 2 seasons, that's not a fluke and ethan is smoking crack if he thinks he doesn't deserve to be in baseball. That being said you need to look at your team to make a proper decision. If you have a ton of power already and no pitching then you might want to consider the trade.
Reply:No Way...U Cant Trade A-Rod At All
Reply:As much as I hate him you have to hold on to A-Rod. Pods will only get you ahead in one category, (SB's) and Carpenter is a good pitcher but will have nowhere near the stastical impact that ARod will have for you. Think of it this way, you are giving up a guy that plays once a week for a guy that plays every day. Plus with the lineup the Yankees have ARod should have tons of chances for RBI and score runs himself.
Reply:It reallu depends on what you need and who you would have to drop. If you need pitching and steals, it's a pretty good deal, but if you don't need pitching you should not do the deal.
Reply:NO! A Rod is a lot better than the 2 of them put together
